Arrival Story:
Foxxy is the "chosen" one....I was at the Marina Safeway parking lot a few years ago when I saw the most beautiful, regal dog I've ever seen in my life in the car parked next to mine. I had no idea what it was - it could've been a real fox for all I knew. At the time, I was seriously contemplating getting a puppy. I searched the web for "foxlike" dogs in every letter of the alphabet..so you know it took a while to get to the letter "S"...And then one day, there she was...a Shiba Inu. I have gone to just about every website dedicated to Shiba Inus to do my home work before taking on the responsibility of being a "parent". The hardest thing to do it turned out was finding the right breeder. I decided on a red, female puppy - but that was easier said than done as there is no guarantee what color they'd turn out. I also wanted to get a puppy from someone who was within driving distance. For a while there, I thought that I was way in over my head until I found Nipomo Shibas of Arroyo Grande : www.edshibas.com . I will always be grateful to Ed and Linda for matching me up with the most beautiful puppy. Foxxy is the smallest in her litter and very feminine. Although she can be mommy's "little scrapper", she is my perfect little companion!

Bio:
I had chosen Foxxy's name as soon as I decided to get a Shiba - she is my "Foxxy Lady". Oddly enough, Foxxy's first plane ride at 3 months was to Seattle, WA when we visited the Jimi Hendrix Museum (Experience Music Project). :) "Poi" and "Kalikimaka" are Hawaiian words - Kalikimaka meaning Christmas (because she is my Christmas puppy), a poi dog is an extinct Hawaiian dog, always referred to as being very loyal
