Leave a bone for Shanaboo (in loving memory of)

Boo, My sweet prince, Shanaboo-boo, and Boolicious! Monkey boy. : )

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-mutt-dog rescue

March 1st 1998

butterflies! digging and sneezing (sneezes when he's really happy!) and he sneezes a lot lately! Now my Abby is sneezing too! haha

He doesn't care for the vacum cleaner.

Favorite Toy:
he loves tennis balls and hasn't picked out a favorite toy ...yet. Score! He loves the soccer toy!

Favorite Food:
peanut butter and bone marrow treats.

Favorite Walk:
used to be Carmel, CA at the beach. I think he'll love walking over at Cherokee Blvd. Loves the walk in our neighborhood that we do everyday, twice a day.

Best Tricks:
will find out! Julia, his foster Mom taught him to do all kinds of cool things like roll over, sit, shake and more. He'll dig on command and I saw him to that yesterday! He helped me plant a new flower bush. Awesome!

Arrival Story:
I found Shanaboo on this wonderful web site, Dogster! Quite by accident really. I was nosing around looking at adoptable pets and about the 10th dog I stopped on, there was Shanaboo! As I scrolled down and looked at his pictures, I saw my beloved Sydney in him. Certain ways he holds his head he looks just like him. I emailed Julia and one thing led to another. This started in January 2005 and he'll be here as of 3/20/05. Julia is my new best friend and I know that Shanaboo will miss her terribly. (and vise versa) There are many special people in the world and Julia tops that list.

Julia doesn't know his history, only that he was found hanging around an elementary school. (she thinks because he loves children so very much.) He's very loving and gentle with children...and adults. Julia has filled me in on all of the neat things that Shanaboo can do and she is one awesome dog trainer and lover. I hope one day to meet her in person. : )

2 years ago this March I was on my way to pick up Shanaboo at the Atlanta airport. I was so excited and happy that you were coming to join our family. Who would have known that you only had 6 months with us. I have no regrets and am glad that I had your teeth fixed and you had some comfort. Only 6 months and it felt like I had known you for years. Rest in peace my sweet prince.
We think about you every day.
Love, Melissa

My sweet Shanaboo went to Rainbow Bridge today and it was the saddest day for us. I didn't want to let go but he had so much trouble walking, it was just too much for him. He died in my arms and I can still smell him.
I knew this day would come but I didn't think it would be this soon.
Shanaboo, you were only in our lives for barely 6 months and you brought so much joy and laughter to us. Abby already misses you and she will for quite some time.
We will remember the good times and the giggles. The great car rides and the snuggling. Thank you for loving me Shanaboo.
I will miss you for the rest of my days.

Love, Melissa
