this beautiful dog off leash park/hike where she can chase squirrels and dogs and have minor interaction with dogs. At this park she loves going into bushes and hunting
when she doesn't attack another person
Lexi is a rescue dog all of 2.5 years. My partner and I have had her for just over a year. Lex has a lot of issues, but none around us. She has the typical rescue story, spent her first year and half escaping euthinization, bouncing from rescue societies and bad foster homes. She's been beaten and put on tranquilizers.
We wanted a small dog with a lot of personality to accompany us on adventures around Vancouver Canada and all over the continent. We went to visit her at her last stop rescue home, and the lady gave her to us on a trail run and we never hear anything since. Lexi is an absolute dream dog around us, but when it comes to the rest of world that is where things get tricky.
Lexi has/had serious socialization issues with dogs, that we have almost successfully worked through. She can go into dog parks but only with her muzzle on, as it is no longer the dogs that we are concerned for, rather, it is the people. Lexi has become very protective over us and is becoming more and more fear agressive toward any other humans. She has 1 human friend that she can muzzle off in our household. And she also tolerates my parents at their house. Ultimately, our plans to hike and surf with her have been put on hold, as we can't trust her even sitting around a campfire with close friends. She is very unpredictable and lots of our friends refer to her as the devil dog.
