Arrival Story: Meet Bacardi! Bacardi is a three-year-old flashy fawn who is on the smaller side for a Boxer. She is Heartworm positive, but is otherwise healthy.
Bacardi currently lives in a home with two male Boxers and gets along well with them. She is also living with a small skin sister, but is a tiny bit too hyperactive to live with a toddler permanently. She would do fine with older elementary students though. Bacardi is a bit too interested in cats to live in a home with one.
Bacardi loves, loves, loves affection and thrives on her foster family’s attention. She would make a great running partner once her heartworm treatment is complete. Bacardi is currently learning to walk on a leash and does well with a head halter. She is crate-trained, and knows how to use the doggy door, but sometimes forgets to tell her foster mom she needs outside when the door is closed. She is making improvements though! Bacardi’s has probably never been an indoor dog before ABR, as she is still learning basic boundaries, like not counter-surfing and not jumping on humans.
Bacardi is a very sweet girl who would benefit from the company of other dogs and a family with the time and patience to be consistent with her. She learns very quickly and is eager to please!
