Bio:
Pixie is well-behaved since Mom & Dad have learned from the Dog Whisperer and others; it is important that Pixie remember she is not the leader of the pack. Pixie loves the dog park but admits she has an alpha-girl attitude that comes out when other skittish dogs get testy. She is working to control her separation anxiety and is loving her all-raw diet; she can hardly wait for camping in the summer and is thrilled to be on a regular walk and run schedule 7 days a week.

Update on Pixie Day

Wouldn't it be nice if everything stayed easy? But no, since Pixie developed some separation anxiety she can not stay in the back yard, she will jump out even when the fences are built up to over 6-foot high. So now Pixie is an 'indoor dog', which makes her happy.

So now her typical day is waking up at the foot of the bed to go for a walk with Mom or Dad, then going to work with Mom and being loved and spoiled by co-workers, then coming home at noon, getting fed, spending time relaxing on the deck and/or inside with Mom, maybe running errands in the car (which is fun cuz she gets to stick her head out the window!), and then running to greet Dad when he drives in the yard after work. Evenings are a bit of play-time with various toys and even racing around the yard some, then napping til bedtime. What a life!

Lazy Fall Days

I have to admit I'm a pampered pooch: a typical day for me is sleeping in til about 7 am, when my owners come and get me from my cozy doghouse in the yard and I come in for some early-morning lovin' and snuggling before Daddy goes off to work. I snooze for a couple hours while Mamma does stuff around the house, then we might go shopping or running errands. I either get to play in the backyard or go along with her. When I see she invites me into the backseat, I jump up and take my favored spot: leaning out the window to catch the breeze and sniff any good smells. If I'm lucky, and I am at least 4 or 5 days a week - we got the the Dog Park! This is soooo much fun! I get to romp and play and run and tussle with all my buddies and meet new ones - sometimes there's only 3 or 4 of us die-hards, but often there could be 10-15 doggies out there. I get so tired after an hour, that I might give Mom a look that says "OK, we can go home now."

Back at home, I am exhausted but satisfied. I might lay on the deck and watch the nieghborhood or if I'm not too messy and dirty, Mom will let me lay inside while she fusses around. When Dad comes home from work, I am the first to perk up and run to the back door to greet him. Then it's more lovin' time and even time to get treats while I practice my tricks. I'm pretty good and look forward to learning more. I may get to go to another intermediate dog training class soon. That would be fun.

I am lucky to have good neighbors who like to come and play with me and take me for walks when Mom and Dad are busy.

Well, I gotta go - time to see what Mom is doing and see what goodies she's going to put in my bowl.

Woofs and Barks and Have a Good Day!

Love, Pixie

Pixie is looking forward to her family's big get-together/ reunion in April 2006 and yet she knows she'll have to get busy and find a place to stay. The big home theyr'e renting says 'no pets' . She's writeen a few emails to doggies she's found on dogster from Vail, but no replies so far. If there is anyone with input or advice, please reply back and let us know.
Thanks
