We finished our walk for the day. For the first time in months I had been smiling. Apart from the shelter drama, a lot had taken place at home as well. I had been sitting for months in a depressed state, that is how I came to thing of adopting a dog. Not just any dog, one that had been thought what I have, and be able to help the both of us.
Almost another month had past, and Jade was still at the shelter. I felt bad for her, she had now been in the same set of cages, for over a year. During that month, I had been so happy, and it wasn't until she was gone, that I realizes this.
Two days before Christmas break, I walked into the kennels. When I reached Jade's cage, I met only a gate. No happy brindle dog jumping up and down, tail wagging like crazy. Just bars. I asked around to see where she was, if maybe she had been moved. Everybody said they didn't know, each and every time my heart was hit with pangs of sadness. I left that day without even a goodbye from her, and that's when I realized that Jade, was meant for me.
NOTES: Part three will take a little longer to get out then the second and first part did.

It all started when my father and I descided to volunteer at the local Humane Society. Being me I thought it would be a great thing to do,and as being a chance to comunicate with other people,it turned out to be way more then that, and this is how.
My frist tour through the kennels.. Was not even close to what I expected. Dogs barking, some staring threatening me to not come any closer, and oh the smell. It was to have some getting used to.
Over the period of a single week,I had fallen for a rotweiller mix named Rocky. was there from three to six,as soon as I could get through the doors at school and rush to the car, then the thirty minute drive, I was with him.I had made up my mind to adopt him by the thrid week of meeting him. I took my grandmother to go fill out the papers, and went back to see him before anyone could say anything to me,just to find out Rocky, was gone. Adopted by a mother and a set of twins,I was heart broken.
Almost a month passed before I recuperated and was back at the shelter, walking the dogs, cleaning cages, playing in the play pens with random dogs.
Then a day when I was out with a dog named Kodie,a woman walked up. We had talked about Kodie's kennel partner Jade, and after a while the woman thought it would be best to bring her out so the two could play. I agreed, remembering my dad saying she was a sweet dog,but really shy.
The doors opened, and out came the lady with a dog that looked, and I'm serious,it looked like a miniture dingo.
I got stuck with both dogs when the woman had to go,and despite the cold and wind. I stayed out there with them willingly. I was day dreaming when I felt a cold nose on my hand, looking over I saw Jade, cowering slightly,as if she was hesitant, but still she sat next to me. I didn't pet her though,I thought that it would be to much for her, being a shy dog and all.
Now,the first time I met Jade I didn't fall in love with her,so this is not one of those magical love at first sight things, because at that moment in time, the thought of adopting her,was the last thing on my mind.Yeah she seemed like she had a good heart, but she wasn't my type,or at least thats what I thought then.
The first time Jade really sparked my intrest, was when I got stuck with her a second time.It was fairly nice out,so we ditched the indoor pen and set out for one of the short trails behind the kennels.I hardly paid any attention to Jade, she was on her leash, she wasn't pulling,so I just lost intrest and watched the trees, then watched a squirell run across our path. For a moment I didn't think of it,but it hit my mind and I stopped walking, and glanced down at Jade, and smiled. She had not lunged at the small animal that crossed our path. After that,I slowly, stated to see the potential she had.
