Playing with her sister, Chloe, and chasing squirrels up our trees.
Not getting a treat when she comes in.
A long accordion dog toy.
Lamb and Brown Rice is all she can eat due to allergies.
She rings a string of jingle bells to go outside.
Cissy and her sister Chloe have been with me for three years since they were puppies. They came to me from an abusive first home and my vet thought they would never be good people dogs due to their fear and distrust. I proved her wrong. They are both loving, adorable little dogs. Cissy has struggled her whole life with skin ailments and severe allergies that have only recently been brought under control. A year ago, I noticed a discoloration of her eyes. She was taken to the University Animal Clinic two hours away where she was diagnosed with congenital cataracts in both eyes and a partially detached retina in one. She is now totally blind. I realize that some pet owners would just let her stay that way. However, her main joys in life are playing with her sister and standing under trees watching the squirrels. She can no longer do either. In addition, she trembles if I try to walk her as she cannot see where she is going. The other afternoon, she ran out the back door and smacked head first into a tree. I simply have to get her the surgery. In addition, for the first weeks after the surgery, she requires four drops in each eye four times a day, five minutes between each drop. This makes taking a job to pay for this impossible.
