Arrival Story: Dixie was rescued on 3/20/2013 from a drug dealer whose main goal in producing pit litters was for profit and most likely fighting. She was thin, FULL of worms, and unsure of people and new experiences due to the calloused and rough manner in which she was handled. She was estimated by the veterinarian to be between 5-6 weeks old, which is MUCH too young to wean and sell puppies, but this man was not concerned with this. The rest of the litter was already sold and the mother had been removed.
Thankfully Dixie is now here where she has a chance to grow into an amazing companion dog, and in just one day has already begun to show just how resilient she is. She's playing with the cats and her 2 doggie big brothers, and following me everywhere. When she's tired from play she will sit at my feet to be picked up and snuggled.
