Buddy's Dad, Bandit belongs to a friend of mine. Buddy's Mom, Chloe lives next door to Bandit. Only days before Bandit's "operation" he and Chloe dug under their common fence to be together. The result was Buddy, one of 8 puppies. Buddy looks exactly like his dad. The other 7 pups were black and white like mom.

My Bud passed away today. He had cardiac arrest while under anesthesia to get stitches in his foot. I will miss him terribly. He was the best companion ever. Such a sweet, sweet dog. I love you, Bud. Watch for me from the window of heaven.

3/19/05 We got our shots...and we went to the Bark Park. I had one muddy Buddy. He and his sister, Maggie Mae, had a blast running full-out. And, since it was raining (went anyway), there was mud, mud, mud. What a glorious site they were, fighting and wrestling in the mud.

3/20/05 All bathed and fluffy clean today, we're going for portraits with dad (Bandit). A group of us ladies (8 dogs between us) are meeting at the local Petsmart for portraits. Should be fun!

Buddy is a very energetic little guy. He's also very independent. He plays alone well, and likes to "hunt" small things that will roll or move along at a touch (like grapes). You can see him pretending it's some sort of small prey.

This week he gets the last of his shots--then we're off to a wonderful place called the Bark Park. This park was built on a closed landfill--a great use of land which would otherwise go unused. There is over 6 acres of grass-covered park for dogs (and their owners) to exercise, socialize and play on, including an agility course. I am so excited about taking Bud there--he's going to have a blast! (I suspect I will too.)

Buddy is my first dog, and I wish I'd gotten one sooner because I am reallly enjoying it.
