Arrival Story:
I'm Rusty, a very red Golden. Everyone thinks I'm an Irish Setter because of that deep reddish hue my fur has. My owner, handler, and the love of my life is a 13-year-old young lady who desperately needed me. After almost 2 years of 3-day a week, two hours per day of intense training at Dog Wish, I now go to school with girl as a certified Service Dog. Everyone that meets me and my girl say that I am amazing, and that I am personably responsible for the extreme and sudden success in my girl's life (especially school).
All I gotta say is that I am happy, she is happy, and I LOVE going everywhere with her. My rock-solid unchanging energy helps prevent debilitating panic attacks, is keeping anxiety at bay, and has helped keep the severe depression she suffered dormant.
I can sense when she starts to get nervous at school, so I nuzzle her under her desk when I feel her energy change. If she starts to get panicky, I will be more active in my attempts to calm her. I love my job, and thank Dogwish for all my training. I am one very lucky dog!
