Arrival Story:
In December of 2003, I was rescued from the animal shelter by Anita, a kind employee of the Humane Society. I had heart worm and they were going to put me to sleep. Anita said that I was too awesome to be destroyed. Even though I had a microchip, they were unable to locate my previous owner. No body knows anything about my past; but they say I was probably well cared for...aside from having those nasty heart worms. So, Anita took me to a Vet who gave me some medicine that would make me healthy again. After my treatment was complete, I lived in a foster home for a few days. They were friendly folks that had a laid-back, male Black Lab. I wanted to play with him; but I had to be really quiet for a month while I recuperated...doctor's orders. I couldn't live there forever; so if they didn't find a permanent home for me soon, I would have to go back to the shelter. That could have been a huge mistake, because everyone agreed I might end up in the wrong hands. Did I mention that I'm an awesome dog? So, the Vet called a really nice couple who love German Shepherds, and who could provide a happy and loving home for me.

Bio:
When those nice folks met me, I think they immediately fell in love; because they brought me home to live with them that very day!. Everyone who meets me asks my new Mom and Dad, "Where did you find such an awesome dog?" It must be because I am very well mannered, love people, and have a sweet disposition. I am also quiet and well behaved in the house, a very fast learner, and I always come when you call me. Now that those heart worms are gone, I am super healthy and as playful as a puppy. I'm good on the leash when I go for walks, a great passenger in the car, and I will happily share my toys with humans; but not with other dogs. I'm really friendly to everyone I meet...a perfect lady. Even though I am already perfect, I am currently attending a canine "manners" class, and I enjoy being a student. I have quickly learned stuff like "sit" and "down", and it won't take me long to excel with the "stay" and "heel" commands. The instructor is very impressed. Did I mention that I'm an awesome dog?
