Arrival Story:
Paisley is a ray of sunshine! She is a sweet female boxer that weighs about 65 pounds and is around 7 years old. She is a typical boxer: wants to be near her humans and loves to snuggle. She has short bursts of energy where she likes to run around the yard and play in circles around her human. Afterward, she likes to relax indoors with the family. She is great with other dogs; not extremely playful, but is able to co-exist peacefully with a variety of personalities. Most dogs seem to enjoy her company, but she mostly ignores them, preferring human attention. She will do well in a home with other dogs or as an only child.
Paisley is extremely well-behaved. She is house-trained and enjoys quiet time in her crate. When she is excited she will jump a little, but settles down quickly. Sometimes when she is playing, she will gently put her mouth on your hands. Due to this and her large size, she is best suited for a home with older children that she can't knock over. She loves children and adults: all attention is good! She has been tested with cats - she was curious about the cat, but when it ran away, she lost all interest and moved on to explore other things.
Paisley is very food motivated. She gets very excited at meal time and when she hears the treat jar open. She has not shown any food aggression, but is currently being fed separately from the other dogs in the home to make sure she doesn't try to take their food away from them. She will try to grab a treat from your hand, and her foster mom is working on teaching her to be more gentle. She doesn't mean any harm, she just loves her food!
Paisley is at such a great age for a boxer: she is full of love and fun, but she doesn't require a lot of exercise any more. She is a little stiff in her back legs and is currently taking glucosamine supplements. She still runs, romps and jumps up on the couch (but not on the bed, which is a little higher). She also appreciates a little help into the car, but can jump out all on her own. Paisley is adored everywhere she goes. She is looking for a loving family that wants to give her lots of attention and a soft bed.
