Arrival Story:
We volunteered to foster a sight unseen female, Boston Terrier for a rescue I know but had not fostered for before. All we knew was the dog was small and "brown". She was not spayed and lived in a bad situation of neglect. I met her on 2/15/13 at our vet's office and stayed with her as she had her initial check up and all vacs. She has a fungus on her ears, a hernia, is under weight and her coat is very dull. She is amazingly heart worm negative! Unfortunately both of her back legs have Luxating patella (or trick knee, subluxation of patella, floating patella, or floating kneecap) is a condition in which the patella, or kneecap, dislocates or moves out of its normal location.
Patellar luxation. A common condition in dogs, particularly small and miniature breeds. The condition usually becomes evident between the ages of 4 to 6 months. This is the same surgery Kate had last year. It is very expensive. :(
Bio:
Chloe was owned by someone who gave her to a man. He said "She peed on his floor twice so he put her outside to live." :(I can't imagine putting a tiny sweet dog like this outside to live! The man told a friend he was going to take her to the pound. The friend called a friend in rescue and she took Chloe and had her 2 wks. In 2 wks she went from 9 to 11pounds. Obviously she was not being fed as she should have been. :( She will be spayed next week and then we will see about her legs/knees. We love her already and will help her become healthy and happy.

Today is the day! Mom has talked to me and Sweet Caroling and the new old girl Aubrey for 24 hours. You girls are going to Texas to a wonderful rescue that Dad and I have worked with for some years now. They are wonderful people and they have accepted you and are ready to help you be well and able to have a good healthy life. Chloe, you will have surgery on your back legs. You kow they don't work right and it's uncomfortable for you at times. That is going to be fixed! Sweet Caroline, your ears are very bad and they hurt you. You have suffered from problems with them for a very long time. The vet said probably your whole life. That is going to be taken care of. You can say good bye to pain. Aubrey, you are crippled. The arm permanently against your chest is such a burden to you. I also see that you have a back knee that is not working well. Those things will be corrected by your new rescue. They are good people and will take good care of you. You can trust them. I love you all. Daddy and I will miss you so much. I will keep up with your progress and celebrate when you are well and go to a forever home.
So today is the day. Another start to my life but like mom said "Angels are watching over you."

Mom got all my records from my rescue today. They are all in order so now I am ready to go to the new rescue. I don't know where I will live in Texas. I know I wil be safe. Mom said I am going to get my legs fixed and I will get a home after I get well. I hope she doesn't forget me. I won't forget her or my foster dad. They have been so sweet to me and I know I am loved. Well I am going to just start thinking of this move like mom said. It's an adventure in my life on the way to my forever happiness.

Poor Kate's adoption fell through at the last minute. She is staying here for a while longer at least. Maybe she is lucky. Maybe she will live here always like Rose and Stormy. I wonder.
My friend Sweet Caroline and I are going to Texas next Saturday. I am excited. Mom said I will NOT live outside there or anywhere I go after I am adopted. She said I am precious and from now on only people who think I am a sweet gift will have me in their life. :)
