I rescued Kaya (who then was named "Stella") when she was only 6 weeks old from a wonderful no-kill shelter in Ohio. She was apart of a liter of 15! I went to visit her once and just knew I had to have her! She was not only absolutely adorable with beautiful markings and paws too big for her body, but I vividly remember her curling up in the employee's lap and resting her head on her leg. For a crazy, energetic puppy, I thought that was so neat and precious. (To this day, she rests her head on my leg, on my pillow, the end of the couch... anything she can get her head on!) I chose the name Kaya not only b/c it was very different, but it's the name of one of Bob Marley's CDS whom I love as well as it means "togetherness" in Jamaican. It's such a beautiful name that fits her perfectly.
I have had the honor and utmost privilege of being Kaya's Mom for 6 years now. She is my joy, my left arm and the love of my life!!
"Boo" is my favorite nickname for Kaya; it fits her b/c she's my baby and also is such a little diva! She is such a sweetheart, very dainty and yes, prissy! She's a talker too; she definitely takes after her mom :) We joke and say it's Kaya's world and we're just living in it! If there was a dog made special just for me, it would honestly be her! She is truly an extension of me.
