Nicknames: Austin Boxer Rescue Arrival Story: Mara is a petite, fawn and white female who is thought to be around 10 years old. This sweet, little lady has had a hard past resulting in an eye injury and scarring on her neck and legs, but Mara does not let this get her down! She is currently living with 5 other dogs, but she would prefer to be an only dog. Mara's foster is not sure if she is good around cats or children but feels that she would do just fine with them. Her foster also says that she is a sweet girl. She has lots of energy, but is not hyper. She sometimes seems like she has been mistreated and is afraid if people come at her in a strong manner, so she needs an understanding family who will do their best to make her feel safe and at home. She is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door. Mara is also crate trained, leash trained, and has overall good manners. She is a wonderful girl and would make a great addition to any family! Mara sounds like the whole package and a little bit more!
As part of our Silver Hearts Program there will be no adoption fee for this dog. We are looking to place older dogs in loving homes so they can enjoy the rest of their lives. Older dogs can truly be a blessing so please take the time to consider being part of the Silver heart program. You can read more about Mara and all of our other silver heart dogs on their special page
