Sawyer is a shy boy who takes a bit of time to warm up to people. However, once he feels comfortable, he's a lively little guy. He's really starting to come out of his shell around people and actively soliciting attention. He seems okay with older kids; very young children scare him!
Sawyer is a pretty active little guy and very smart. He's already begun some clicker training and is catching onto the basics quickly. He settles well in the house as long as he's had both mental and physical exercise. I don't believe he's the type of dog who needs a job but he's no couch potato either. He's also still a young puppy so I'd expect him to be relatively energetic for a while.
Even though he gets along very well with my dog, Risa, Sawyer is very dog-selective. Most dogs scare him and he does not like them to get close and in his space. Due to his age, this could be a phase but it also could be something his future family will need to be aware of and work with him on. I have already started working with him on being more comfortable with dogs in close proximity.
Mr. Sawyer is also a pretty vocal little guy so he might not be a great fit for people living in an apartment unless they have very forgiving neighbors. ;) He is learning to be more quiet and that whining doesn't get him any attention but it's still a work in progress.
