She talks! She burrows blankets.Aura loves the water: She walks into the bathtub and stays when it's time for a bath. She likes the oatmeal shampoo. She goes tubing down the Comal River with us and runs back to ride the tubing bus to go again and again.

Arrival Story:
Aura came to us by way of her aunt that hailed from Thidwick's Dalmatians. (Pictured above with her amazing breeder Liz). Aura is the most wonderful dog we have owned yet. She came to use trained and is a good Signal dog. She was given to me because I had taken very good care of her Aunt Kemah who I showed off as a Fire House Mascot in small town holiday parades. We had recently moved to Texas and as a result, could finally settle in the Dallas area owned house with a nice fenced in yard.

Forums Motto:
Aura the <3 Love Bug<3 passes me 30MPH!

Flight:
The flight in Aura flew in from the plane and the first time I saw her she was in crate with the plastic tie-tags (that you cant cut off from the airlines attached) so securely that I had to drive her home some 40 minutes after her 4-5 hour flying ordeal. She was so spooked from the flight, that on jumping down from her large 400 crate (out of the Ford Escape) she got tangled in the lead we were about to slip over her with the hitch.. and slipped out. I then along with 5 different neighbors chased her for *one to two hours* : by car and on foot in circles about a square mile and she never stopped running. I was driving 30 mph down a collector street at one point next to a field (and) was afraid to exceed the speed limit as she was passing me at her angle far away. Ultimately I followed her to her home and somehow she must have smelled her own steps back up to our driveway, and into the gate that was open to the yard. I quickly shut the gate and ran to open the patio door but she had already asked to come in it. *Smart dog*. She was skiddish for a week but then turned into a real cuddle bug. Six months later she was tubing down the Comal river with us! She takes naps with me on the futon and has her own chase lounge, but stays off the sofa.

Hi Liz,

Aura is adjusting well and has really taken to Serge. We take turns walking her so sometimes she gets three walks a day. She really is a character, she "talks: and she moves her moth when she wants to eat,
and she makes noises when she wants to walk.

Aura slipped out front when the cabel man was here after the tornadoes (with no leash) and Serge said to her "Aura get back in the house" and she went in:).

They chase after rabbits if they are on the leash and try to pull me. I had them both on the double leash, and Aura took off so fast (glad you had me wait until my shoulder healed) that the connecter link jumped unclipped. Aura was then just tied to Kemah who acted as an anchor since *she* tuckered out quickly. Fortunately I saw this could happen and I clipp Kemah to her hard collar and not to her choke. Kemah is good she really doesn't even need a leash, unless there is a rabbit. It is a good thing that Aura was in that no pull harness as it pulls under her legs so she can't pull me down the street.

Kemah will go around the block once twice a day and then we drop her off at home and go farther. She is a lot livelier since Aura came along and it is good for her to have a routine with another dog for feeding and walking. She seems more motivated.

Aura's pet insurance went though as of May first. She then needs a meet and greet exam with the vet and then we can set her up for spaying.
