Nicknames: Austin Boxer Recue Arrival Story: If Razberry were to place a single's ad it would say, "Single White Female in great shape looking for love with an outdoor enthusiast! I love long walks, running alongside you while you ride your bike, and playing fetch with a ball outside. I'd love to take a walk on the wild side and try something new -- like maybe agility training? I have a strong will and need someone who will stand up to me and earn my respect, but don't fence me in! If you leave me outside alone I won't stick around! In my last relationship I scaled a six foot fence to prove my point! Looking for someone active, intelligent, and loyal? Give me a shout!"
Razberry is a spirited young boxer who is exceptionally active! She needs an adopter who is committed to exercising and working her on a daily basis. She has shown high intelligence and responds well to a strong pack leader who will let her know what's expected and be consistent with her on boundaries and training. She pays close attention to facial cues and is very responsive. She is not deaf but may have trouble hearing certain pitches so her foster family uses both words and hand signals with her. Razberry is adorable and charming but if someone isn't consistent with her she will try to assume a dominant role in the pack.
Razberry is living with another dog in her foster home but introductions with dogs must be done slowly; she is "leash reactive" with other dogs. Razberry is not a good match for a home with a cat or children under twelve because she is just too excitable. She can live in a home with another dog but having a dog companion (or a large yard) is not a replacement for the daily aerobic exercise that this girl needs to expend her energy! She would be fine as an only dog. Razberry is healthy, heartworm negative and ready to find her forever (and active) home!
