Arrival Story:
My new mom adopted me when i was 8 the old as my old owner had a Rotti-X and said iI just didn't fit into their lifestyle. My new mom loves me so much. The same day I came to my new home we went camping for a week. I loved it. We went hiking everyday, we were at the beach every day. I like the beach but don't really like swimming. I like the picnics but my mom is fussy on what I eat because she says that people food isn't good for me. She does let me have vegetables and a little lean meat. I do have a bit of an eating problem as in my last home I had to share my food. I didn't always get enough so now I have to have my food put in portion size for me otherwise I have a tendency to over eat to the point where I gorge myself. I'm slowly learning that its ok to eat smaller amounts because I will have another meal to fill my tummy. When I was 3, my moms oldest daughter brought her handsome Chihuahua over when my mom was working. His name is Ben. Everyone knew I was in heat but thought that didn't think anything of it. When my mom got home from work she was upset because she knew what would happen. Well about a month later my belly started to grow and I put on weight. My mom took me to my vet and explained everything to her. My vet took pictures of my tummy and told my mom there were no babies in my tummy. My vet thought I might have the bad the bad "C" word (cancer),but since I have a big appetite She said to increase my calcium and bring me back the following week for another x-ray. When we went back the next week my vet told my mom the news. I was going to be a mommy. I was so excited. My mom wasn't as happy when my vet said there was at least 5 babies in me. I'm tiny for my breed and at the time weighed only five pounds. I was put on a high calcium food to help my babies grow strong and to help.me too. Three weeks later I went into labour at 11 pm at night. I delivered my first little girl at home, my second was a son born at home with help from my mom, my third baby was stuck sideways so I had to be rushed to the neighboring town to an emergency vet. I was so scared. At 9am the next morning they gave me 2 doses of patosyn to see if that would help me. It didn't. They had to do an emergency cesarean on me. The vet delivered 2 boys and 2 girls. My body temperature dropped very low and I almost didn't make it. They called me the " miracle girl". My mom and 2 of the kids I live with waited by my side, praying for me to be ok. I'm sad to say that 2 of my babies didn't make it. My family brought me home that night as there was no room to keep me at the vets. He was very busy. My family took very good care of me and now I'm healthy and strong again. My family found very good homes for my 2 girls and my 2 sons still live with me. My boys turned 1 year on November 2,2012. I'm going to get my mom to add pics of my boys with me. Maybe even their handsome dad Ben. My family loves me and my boys so much. They say were not dogs we're just more kids in the family.
