We got Arrow from a local rescue - Auburn Area Animal Rescue Foundation (AAARF, www.aaarfrescue.org). I saw him on their Facebook page and had to meet him, the rest was history.
All we know about him is that he was running the streets of Auburn and was picked up by Placer County Animal Services. AAARF pulled him from PCAS and he was fostered by the AAARF president for a month before he became ours. PCAS called him Bingo, AAARF called him Scout and I changed his name to Arrow, after the dog in the animated movie "The Point".
Arrow is a wonderful little dog, a 23-pound Chihuahua mix who's smart, food motivated and a big-time snuggler. He's also very athletic and loves to jump and run. He's good at digging too. He's great with other dogs and has a blast at the dog park - he wants to be chased, so he tries to get the other dogs to chase him.
He's a Canine Good Citizen; he passed his CGC test in October 2012. I'd like to try getting a therapy certificate on him and I'm also curious to see how he'll do in agility and rally obedience classes.
He has a very fancy trot, which is why one of his nicknames is "Mr. Trottypants". He's just a super little dog with lots of spark and personality. I take him with me to various dog friendly places and he's always very well behaved. He's a great traveling buddy.
I love to run!!!
Notes from Arrow:
Like Magpie said, my mom's great because she works from home and we get plenty of attention. Sometimes I bug her when she's busy 'cause I want to snuggle or go outside and play. She takes me outside for walks on a long leash, because I can't help myself and I want to take off and chase birds, squirrels, turkeys & stuff. Magpie gets to be off-leash 'cause she stays focused on her tennis ball. Other times when we're outside, mom lets me jump after one of my squeaky toys that she puts on a leash. That's really fun and I love to get those toys!
I'm a good boy though, 'cause I really pay attention when mom has treats. I can do some neat things, like spin both ways, sit, drop, give five and jump up to touch her hand. I go on trips in the car with her too, and get to go inside places where they like dogs.
