Arrival Story: My boyfriend and I live in the country, one day I could hear barking. The barking wasn't from a distance, but right outside my door. So I got up and walked over to the front door looked down and saw this beautiful face looking up at me. The tail started to go well his whole bum started swaying. I knew he was a love bug, so I opened my door and was he powerful. So full of joy. So I took a picture with my phone sent it to my boyfriend at work saying, " look what showed up at our door step" I then found out the dog followed my boyfriend's car as he left for work. And my boyfriend thought " how cute, dont eat my cats" ( we also have three cats, a mum and two boys) so I decided to sit ouside with this dog for eight hours waiting to see if someone would drive by and recognize the dog. But we live in such a rural area that maybe five cars drive by in a day. Well the dog never left. So I fed him. He seemed hungry. He had no tags he hadn't been fixed. He didnt understand simple commands. And the sad thing is he didnt know how to play fetch. Over the next few days we checked the local grocery store, post office and the shelter but no one was looking for him. So we figured we would keep him. Named him Odin, norse god of art, culture and wisdom. Seems to fit him. And superman, well thats because he does this flying leap off the front step with his arms stretched straight out in front of him.
We are pretty convinced he's a Belgain shepherd, Melinois. The body is exactly the same, the coloring in the face is the same. But he has floppy ears. He can point them if he wants to. But when he first came to us the tips of his ears were black and didnt have much fur on them. I dont know if it could be from spending time out in the Canadian winter.
He's our Odin, and for now he completes our family.
Bio: When we took him to get his rabies shot, the vet( by feel of Odins testicles) saidhe believes Odin to be six to eight months.( in September 2012)
