Burli traveled along with 'mom' to see us today. Our visit was brief but oh so sweet. She is healthy and happy with her family. It's wonderful to see her.

The last vestages of Burli are now put away. Her bowl and rug are washed, her food stored for transport and her bed freshly laundered.

Burli's mom is happy to report that Burli is getting sweet cuddles from her family again and doing well when last we spoke. Can't help ourselves; she will be missed.

Farewell to a friend

As quickly as she entered our lives, she virtually disappeared. It's been a week without that gentle spirit.

From the first time I spoke with her mom, Burli felt a part of us, even temporarily. She was in need of a short-term safe haven and we were privileged to be selected to help. She was here within days and we were happy to have her.

It was abundantly clear why she is so special to her family and I'm sure they missed her a great deal. It's our turn now to be missing her. There's one less shepherd running with dad and one less puppy muffin to serve each morning. But Burli is safe and happy back at home. Much love to you baby.
