As written by Charley on his FB page: My ma found me on FB. I was featured in a video from the Manhattan ACC. I was on something they call The List. A nice pediatrician that volunteers at ACC called a rescue lady about me - to get me off The List. See, someone left me tied to a pole on Christmas Eve 2010 - it was freezing out side. I was malnourished and covered in fleas - it's a miracle that I didn't freeze! So when Amsterdog was called, they came and got me off The List. Ma had been looking for a pibble to rescue - she didn't have a pibble yet, but she knew she wanted to find one (me) to help educate ignorant humans AND cuz there are soooo many pibbles to be saved. So ma hunted me down and we had a meet n greet at my foster dads house... then I had another meet n greet with my sisters - one is a border collie mix and the other is a mixed up, bow legged, redhead... since we didn't fight, ma brought me home.
I have gained 20 pounds, 2 dogs sisters, a cat brother, a cat sister, a ma, a dad and a real home on Long Island. I have a really great vet who takes really good care of me - I have learned that I have many environmental allergies - including human dander, go figure - and I found out that 50 bee stings won't kill me!! And I love carrots and peanut butter!
Ma says she is going to find me a trainer so I can study for my CGC. I am happy have new friends. My motto is : Educate, don't discriminate.
Pleased to meet ya! (this was typed by ma cuz I am still working on my spelling and grammar).
About my name: Charlemagne (Charles the Great) was the ideal medieval king. Tall, stately, and well spoken, he worked hard to make his kingdom an enlightened one for his time. He was King of the Franks from 768 until his death in 814. During that period, he expanded Frankish lands with conquests in Germany and Italy to create a Frankish Empire. Crowned as the Holy Roman Emperor on Christmas Day in 800, Charlemagne united much of Europe and provided political stability for the first time since the fall of Rome in the fifth century. Charlemagne also oversaw a rebirth of learning and a revival of arts that was known as the Carolingian Renaissance. He left his mark on Western culture by giving diverse and squabbling kingdoms a single European identity.
