Arrival Story:
I was a stray found by a shelter, rescued by Lone Star Boxer Rescue, sent to their veterinarian's office because I gouged my nose on the cage at the shelter. There the vet people got rid of my fleas, fed me, and tended my wounds. Someone named me Preacher and I didn't like it much!!! Then one day some people came to see me and started talking about Fostering..whatever that means ... well those people took me home and fed me some really GREAT food and gave me a comfy warm bed to sleep on. They petted me and showed me lots of LOVE!!! I gotta tell ya pups I am a real southern gentleman ~ I know all the right moves when it comes to behavior ~ where I originally came from they trained me really good!! Then next thing I know they are using the word Adoption and calling me Ruger (which I love)!!! Then all of a sudden they are using the words Heartworm Positive...HUH? ME? No can't be ME!!! OMD, they were talking about me being HW+...NOOOOOOO!!!! Yup pups it's true...but guess what pups I am only a Level I and I can be cured!!!! So these nice people who took me home to FOSTER are now going to ADOPT me and get my heartworms taken care of!!! I am loving life right now and will keep you posted in my diary as to my full recovery from those nasty heartworms. PLEASE ~ GIVE YOUR DOG THAT PILL ONCE A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!
