The Alley

Ow!

Today, while we were playing in the backyard, I accidentally hit Alley in the mouth with my arm. I've got some lovely scrapes to show for it, but Alley, hard-headed as she is, didn't seem to be phased at all. She just ran after the toy. It happened when she was jumping for a toy as I was throwing it.

A little later, Alley found a nice dead bunny that was crawling with maggots. I'm fighting the urge to wash her mouth out with....well, anything. Ew. I'm more than a little tempted to place an ad saying "Free to mediocre home." But, unfortunately, I love the little monster.

Training

We're working on the whole obedience thing now. The class is at PETsMart, which can get a lot of people up in arms, but I like it. So far, she's doing sit and down with handsignals (although I think the down is more of a lure), and has a 20-second sit-stay and down-stay. She also has a DECENT drop it. She's definitely improving.

We also got a coupon for a free nail trim at the PETsMart grooming place. She was a little fidgety at first, but when I held her, she took it like a champ.

She's still very entertaining. Today, I was sorting laundry and Alley was "helping" by watching me. I toss a shirt down, it landed on Alley's head, and next thing I know, she was running down the hall.
