Arrival Story:
This big guy promises to love you forever! This is Ultra and he LOVES LOVES LOVES people, including kids. He’s a big boy but a calm & quiet middle aged dog... not one of those "high maintenance" types! Just rub his head and he’s as happy as a clam! He’s been with ABR since October and is VERY ready to be yours!! Right now he needs a foster home or a permanent home to get him out of the boarding facility. Are you wonderfing why he’s still at boarding since he’s so awesome?! He probably is, too! The challenge with Ultra is that he sometimes has a hard time being around other animals. He doesn't mind the dogs next to him in the kennels at all and actually ignores them, but on the leash he sometimes reacts to other dogs. This is probably due to a lack of dog socialization all his life. He responds well to training and desperately needs to be in a home (with no other pets) with someone who will help him continue his training. Because he’s a harder to place case, ABR is offering to pay for training classes with his adopter or foster family. He really wants to please and is very treat motivated, which helps immensely with training. He knows sits and listens to that command very well. He takes treats gently from your hand, too. He’s really a big ol' softy when it comes to people and especially kids! Ultra is a very special dog and we see the potential in this big guy. We know the right home will come along to help him be the family dog he so yearrns to be. Just look at that face pleading for love! Thank you Staci Tubbs for virtually fostering Ultra!
