Belly rubs, squirrels, going for hikes in the woods, and going to work with mommy!
being brushed, the "NO!" word, and when mom is paying attention to the cats instead of him
anything he can toss around by using his teeth
Just about anything that falls on the floor, as well as chicken, eggs, and peanut butter
Sheepfold (the dog park), and pretty much anywhere he can see squirrels
he's very good at "shake". and he's learning how to catch stuff in mid air
I wanted to adopt an eskie because I had read a lot about the breed. I was on a waiting list for a rescued eskie but I found Kai via Petfinder, hanging out at the pound in a shelter in a neighborhood of Boston. When I met him it was almost as if he belonged to me from the start - greeting me with a friendly smile and kisses on my hand. From what I understand, his owners had him microchipped but never kept the info up to date, and didn't look for him at the pound (he had been there a while) so he came to live with me. He's been my beloved peskie dog ever since.
Kai and his human mommy share a birthday! Of course we didn't KNOW this before we found each other. Kai is part psychologist, part commedian. There are some days when he knows right away that something is "up" in the house, or up with me. The family who lives upstairs is a bit noisy sometimes and he gets anxious and barky when they're too noisy. There are other times when he just makes me break out in laughter at how smart and funny he is. Especially when we're playing together - he chases his tail as a way of getting me to play with him (I've been trying to teach him the play bow). The way he plays with the other dogs in the park is equally as funny. He likes to chase bigger dogs and barking at them. As soon as they stop and turn around, Kai stops and pretends to ignore them. It's as is if it's some sort of doggie version of "made you look!" or tag. He's come a long way in the years he's been with me - so much more social and confident.
What's the matter with barking?

Mom hasn't taken me out much since we moved to the new den. I think it's too noisy here, and people freak me out more, but the park is so much better!
We have been to the woods a couple times, but that's not as much fun because in the park I can play my secret game where i like to chase the bigger dogs and make them run fast - then I just stop chasing them when they turn around.
Mom even threw a stick around for me and I got to chase it and throw it into the air. So much FUN!. The best part was that I got to meet another Eskie today. His name is Nike. He is smaller than me. Mom was talking to his mom and saying words like "bark". He liked to run like me and barked at stuff too.
Later we went to a couple stores and I got to sit in the drivers seat while mom was gone. I like sitting there because I can bark at people and scare them when they get close to the car. Plus, mom leaves the seat nice and warm for me. She never lets me stick my nose in the bags though. I wonder why.
I'm glad I got to go play in the park today. Earlier mom was brushing me and I hate that so much because I don't like it when she brushes my butt. I like the way I smell just fine!
