Arrival Story:
We bought the muppy from a dog breeder who was selling Italian Greyhound puppies, and he mentioned he had an older dog that he was trying to get rid of 'one way or another', so we took one look at the scared, cowering, little guy and I knew we had to get him out of there.

Bio:
When muppy came to us he was traumatised from a life lived in a tiny cage. His only exercise was being 'trained' to walk on a lead for the show ring. He had not socialised with any other animals, and his only human contact was with 'the breeder'. Nervous and skittish he came to our household, with two large tom cats, a big garden to play in and comfy places to sleep and rest...and he didn't know what to do with himself. For months he ran away from us, we crept around the house trying not to disturb him - ANY movement sent poor muppy running in the opposite direction, in a house with polished floorboards the sound of claws scrabbling on the floor at top speed was a constant reminder that Muppy was one scared little dog. After devoting much love, time and patience to him, we sought the help of dog trainers, vets and animal behaviourists, who all told us Muppy's future was grim, a few suggested that it might just be easier to put him to sleep. (!) (imagine anyone who cares about animals suggesting that) Then we started to drag him everywhere with us, and introduced him to other dogs and we knew that he needed a friend. So we looked and looked and finally we found Red Dog. Muppy and Red Dog are best friends, and are never apart. Muppy is now one of the friendliest, sweetest, social dogs you could ever ask for.
