Arrival Story: Well I got an email about an abused Husky from a shelter in Maryland. Because I am a sucker for white huskies especially, I arranged to get him pulled and fostered and transported. His former name was changed to protect his identity since it was a case going into prosecution against the former owner. Besides it was a dumb name anyway :) So I was visiting my family in upstate NY and met the transporters on my trip home. The shelter claimed he was a deaf senior husky. Buddy was skin and bones when I met him. I just cried. I had all intents and purposes to adopt him out once he was healthy and yeah we have all heard that story before right? So as the story unfolded, Buddy was the sole surviving dog and a gun was shot at the other dog to break up a dogfight over food. Buddy was deaf because the gun was shot right by Buddys ear, he had gunshot residue on his face. Turns out he was temporarily deaf, and not a senior but about a year old. Now he weighs almost 100 pounds and is a crazy nutty boy and I just mush him up all the time. He gets along well with my other two huskies and my puggle Scooter. and yes I am a foster failure and proud of it!!!!
