Nicknames: Austin Boxer Rescue

Arrival Story: Limon is a precious 2 year old fawn boy with a face that is especially droopy even by boxer standards! This lovebug was abandoned in a yard when his family moved; he was tied up with a German Shepard and left to die. Fortunately a Good Samaritan intervened and he earned a place with Austin Boxer Rescue. Limon shows his gratitude for his second chance every day to his foster family by showering them with affection and loyalty. He is proof of how forgiving and resilient these dogs are and how they see the best in everyone!
Limon's number one hobby is cuddling with his foster family....he will snuggle for HOURS on end! Beyond that, he loves showing off how clever he is by throwing his stuffed animal in the air and then "catching" it with his paws. Limon's foster family doesn't think he ever played with toys or people before his rescue so playing tug of war and chasing a ball are new skills/games for him. After playing, he is ready for more snuggles, hugs, and kisses! We don't think that Limon was allowed in the house before rescue so his family is working with him on house and crate training. Beyond that, he has excellent manners in the home. He was probably also attacked or bullied by other dogs while tied up because he is not comfortable with meeting new dogs. This sweet boy will do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who will be willing to patiently enforce rules, boundaries, and limitations. Because he is so grateful to his foster family he has a tendancy to be overprotective of them, but they say that he is eager to please and responds well to correction, although he was probably beaten before being rescued so a little correction goes a long way. He would probably be best as an only dog; introductions to new dogs will need to be handled carefully. He loves children and is very sweet and loving toward the kids in his foster home. Sweet Limon is heartworm negative, healthy, and ready to find a forever home that will honor this wonderful boy for his loving, loyal, and protective nature!
Thank you David Inman for virtually fostering Limon!
