Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Gotcha Date: June 24th 2012
 Birthday: November 11th 2011
Likes: Playing with his best buddy and housemate, Vita

Pet-Peeves: His gentle leader

Favorite Toy: Any rubber toy with tasty treats

Favorite Food: Anything. This dog will eat anything.

Favorite Walk: River dog park. No brainer.

Best Tricks: "Take it nice." Our attempt to teach him to take treats from human hands "nicely" rather than putting his entire mouth around our hands.

Arrival Story: Duke was found wandering loose in St. Paul, Minnesota at 6 months old. He was slightly underweight but still a solid 55 pounds. He was picked up by animal control, held for the maximum 7 days with no one coming to claim him. On his finale day a no-kill rescue took him in, neutered him, started on regular feeding and socializing. I found him through PetFinder and brought him home at 8 months.

Bio: At face value Duke is a clumsy doofus. With wild eyes, one ear sticking straight up, and a crocked trot he may seem like he's "not the smartest kid on the block." However, after getting to know Duke; watching him problem solve and learn new tricks, etc. it is evident that he's a smart boy after all. I think he simply chooses to "play dumb" for the fun of it. He still is a bit of a puppy and we're working on reliable "comes" and "leave-it." Oh, and he has the pesky habit, or love of, eating poop. Ish!
