Yukon loves the dog park and meeting other dogs.
Yukon hates being left behind. He wants to travel the world!
His pet toy, Buddy
Yukon isn't too much of a foodie. He does love cheese though.
Anywhere and everywhere.
Yukon's best trick is sleeping while under the chair of his loyal owner who plays bass in a rock band.
This is a long story of love and loss. We originally bought a bulldog named Roxy from a breeder in New Hampshire. Roxy was the exact bullie that I always dreamed of having. The day that Roxy was supposed to be shipped to us, we accidentally found out that the breeder had been arrested two days prior for animal cruelty. Our Roxy had been found dead in the house along with some other very sick puppies. Roxy died of a viral infection that could have easily been treated. After depositions and much heart break, it took us a year to get our money back and to put the horrible experience behind us.
After the year, we had a lead on a breeder in Carson City. we had decided that we would only choose from a breeder where we could go and speak in person with the breeder as well as pick up our puppy. We had originally gone in wanting a fawn and white female, however, when I laid eyes on Yukon Cornelius, it was just meant to be. Yukon is now 14 months old and he is happy and healthy. We take him as many places as possible and he has really become part of our family.
We have been so happy with Yukon, we decided to get him a sibling from the same breeder. We chose a new Roxy who was fawn and white with one eye masked and a white neck. She was so adorable the first time I saw her picture. Unfortunately, Roxy passed away at 4 weeks old from a massive heart attack. It appears that she was actualy conceived separately from her other brother and sister and that she has a heart defect. We know in the bigger picture, that she is in a better place, however, it still was very heart breaking... again! We have decided not to ever name one of our dogs Roxy ever again.
And this story doesn't end all sad... we just chose a red brindle male that we have named Bumble. We will bring him home in the middle of July. I hope that Yukon and Bumble will be the best of friends.... just like they ended up at the end of the movie.
We just relocated to Chicago (8/2006). Yukon is getting used to the humidity and hardwood floors. Our neighborhood is filled with dogs and it's so fun to get out there and meet all of them.
