Arrival Story: If you're looking for a boxer with the typical loving, sweet nature without the high energy or need for lots of activity, Javelin might be the girl for you. Sweet Javelin, who is brindle and small to medium in stature, was found as a stray in San Antonio. We think she was badly mistreated because she is fearful of men and boys and overall quite skittish. However, she is very loving and is so grateful to be in a stable foster home.
Javelin, who is about 4 years old, will do best in a stable, quiet home without a lot of activity. The ideal situation for her would be to be adopted by a single woman without young children. She is fine with other dogs but would be perfectly happy as an only dog, getting all her owner's attention! We don't know how should would react to a cat. Her favorite activities are going for a leisurely walk and then snuggling on the couch...she doesn't need toys or a lot of high energy activities. Slow introductions to other people and dogs are a "must" for her!
Javelin is house trained and crate trained; she walks nicely on a leash but is timid when approached. She is heartworm positive and will need to be treated for heartworms when she is adopted, however ABR will pay for the treatment. This gentle girl would love to find a calm, loving home to call her own and will be extremely loyal and loving in return!
