Update 8/11/12- Bear went home with his forever family this morning! Congrats Bear and be a good boy!! :) Meet Bear! This handsome guy didn’t have a great start in life – he spent most of the first year of his life outside on a chain and then was dumped in a shelter. But he’s in foster care in NJ with Rogers' Rescues now and is ready to put all that behind him now! Bear is thrilled to be in a home with people who care for him, a soft bed to lay on at night, dog toys to toss around, and other dogs to play with. He’s housetrained, hasn’t chewed anything inappropriate, and is a happy boy now. He knows Sit and is very eager to please and learn. Bear is about 80 lb and appears to be mostly Labrador Retriever. He adores people and is never far from his foster parents’ sides but he is crate trained and happily sleeps in there when his foster family is not home. He’s good with the resident dogs and loves to run, play and wrestle in the backyard with them and the dog toys but he would like to be the “top dog” in the household. He is interested in the resident cat but leaves him alone when told but would probably not be best suited for a home with a cat that would run from him. Bear is neutered and up to date on routine vaccinations and flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He is a sweet, smart boy who just wants to have fun - in true Labby fashion, one of his favorite things is to play fetch in the backyard!
