Well Its official...I have a forever home....Dog It was a long time getting here.

Mom and Dad heard about me more then a month ago. They were looking for a playmate for my brother Ridge after Kramer past away from Cancer. I was living with a foster family in Kentucky and my name was Oh My Darlin.

Mom says she doesn't know much about my past other then I was pulled from a shelter in the south.

From what mom has been reading, and heard of the shelters in the south It was really lucky that I found a rescue to take me in or I probably would be at the bridge by now.

Any way....once mom and dad mentioned they were interested in me I started my trip north.

It took about two weeks and 10 different people to get me here....dog talk about stressed out..I am sure I saw a lot of things on my way north, but I don't really speak of them to my mom so she can only guess

Mom and Dad and my new brother Ridge then drove an hour away to meet me. It was love at first sight.....well at least with my mom.....I decided she was the one I want to bond with.....Mom is thinking I was probably owned by a woman before cause i tend to respond better with women then men...though i have learned dad is really cool and he takes me for walks during the night so mom can sleep LOL.

The only thing mom didn't like was my name and that is how I became Duchess.

My first vet visit here in Ma was Thursday...the Vet said I seemed pretty healthy even though I have been suffering from the runs since I got here.

We have decided that the stress and all the different foods I have been eating most likely caused the runs, but my new vet gave me some meds to take just in case and some high fiber canned food to go with my kibble to get things under control

I also had some shots....Mom says I need some shots to stay healthy, though I must admit I don't really like needles.

The best part of my new home is my brother Ridge. He is a retired sled dog and he loooves to run...Mom and Dad take us to the doggy park down the street twice a day and we run and run and chase balls and run and play until we both are exhausted. Mom says she is so happy cause It has been a long time since Ridge has really had anyone to play with.

On top of that I have become really attached to him....I really don't like it when DAD takes him out without me, Mom thinks I am afraid he won't come back, though she assures me he is fine

So now life is good though I do have a few issues...like chewing on things and itching a lot....But mom says it will just be a matter of time before we have those problems solved
