Last sunday Mom and Dad surprised Me and Malcolm by NOT going for a walk in the park. Instead they loaded all sorts of things in the car, but left plenty of room for us, and headed north (the same direction they brought me home from) WHAT !!!!! ARE THEY SENDING ME BAAAAK ???? WHATEVER DID I DO OR DIDN'T DO ??????????????? Luckily they stopped short of Denver and we got out at a friend of Mom and Dad's. There were other Royal Hounds there and it was greyt fun greeting everyone and making new friends. Meanwhile Mom changed into some sort of flowing long huge tent. She put on this monstrosity she called a hat of straw with flowers and ribbon. and we piled into her friend's car. Dad went home I thik he was terrified of what was to come. Anyway the day was most hot and with my lovely dark coat I was afraid I would burn up. But there was air conditioning in the car so that we royals were kept comfortable. We finaly came to a place called Larkspur I did not know birds were also cowboys. We got to park in the VIP parking lot, well of course where else would we park we ARE ROYAL which makes us VIPS.
We walked what seemed for miles all up hill (that was mom complaining). Malcolm and I had no problem since there were lots of people adoring us so we were walking slowly in order to allow the lower life forms to get a chance to observe real royalty. After a bit we came to a booth with wide steps and large amounts of shade AND !!!!! a private business area fenced off, call a PRIVY just for our private relief. There were lots of beds, blankies, comforters and various forms of soft materials to provide us with comfort. It was very very hot outside but inside it was shady and cool and a huge bucket of water for our refreshment, along with treats !. Everyone was dressed strangly, I am told they were in Renaissanaace Costumes, very fancy . Lots of people came up to our booth and even put green paper in a jar just for the right to pet us !!!!! . I later learned this was the Renaissance Faire in Larkspur. And that there was to be a parade in which Malcolm would march so that lots of people could see him. I did not go to the parade as my coat was considered too dark and my age was over the limit. You see the parade route covered some hills and my dainty paws would have gotten tired. Lot of kids came up to us and I got petted endlessly and admired. Malcolm got his share of adoration too. We were there for a long time it seemed, when it was time to go poor mom was so tired and actualy had heat exhaustion and had to sit down and drink some extra water on the way down to the car. Thank goodness she survived ! I needed her to make sure my supper would be served on time .
It was really a fun day and lots of people got to learn about our most royal breed. When we got home, Malcolm and I promplty lay down and took well deserved naps.
yawnnnnnnnnn speaking of nap.......ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

It was a very warm day, but the ride to my fur ever home was pleasant. My chauffer George knew where he was going and drove most carefully, of course that was his job. We arrived at my new palace and it was very pretty, flowers on the front porch and a lovely back yard with 205 feet of track !!. I met my new little brother Malcolm or Malcolm the Magnificent (he has a Dogster page too). Malcolm is very friendly and invited me to zoomie, I told him later, I need to check out my new digs. So Malcolm did a few zoomies (mostly to show off) and I could see I would have a greyt zoomie partner.
Later we went inside and boy !!!! hardwood steps 7 of them then a landing and 7 MORE steps !!!. George was most assuring and guided me up, we will have to work on that but its a start. Inside there was nice carpet (fully worked on by Malcolm) with toys everywhere !!! and lots of beds and blankies to lie on. The first night was a little confusing since I was not sure where to sleep but there were plenty of choices so ..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
