Arrival Story:
Coffee was abandoned by her previous humans and was hanging out by a coffee shop. She was rescued by a wonderful couple who took her home, fed her and treated her for what turned out to be tick fever. She was bleeding profusely from her nose and her foster mom brought her to the vet's. We too were there that night with Gucci, to get an x-ray of his broken leg. Later that week, when we sent Gucci off to the Rainbow Bridge, Coffee was still there, undergoing treatment for her condition. She was friendly with us when we were grieving and depressed beyond words. A couple of weeks later we came to know that Coffee was up for adoption. The foster mom wanted to keep Coffee but she generously gifted Coffee to us when she heard about Gucci. So, she brought Coffee to our home to help her settle in. Coffee needed little help settling in, though. She walked in, took a self-guided tour around our house, and when through, sat down at her new mom's feet. The foster mom made this really sweet deal with us: if for whatever reason we are unable to keep Coffee, she will take Coffee back, whether 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years later. Judging by how Coffee is getting along with us, it will probably not come to that! Yet, it is nice to know Coffee has someone to love her so. Welcome home, Coffee. You have big enormous gigantic pawprints to fill.
