Pet-Peeves: Fleas, kids who are rough, big dogs who are rough, small male dogs.
Favorite Toy: Anything soft that she can sit and corn nibble or suck on.
Favorite Food: Fresh
Favorite Walk: Any walk. We are still working on her weight issue and because of her past she was never leash trained. So walks are kinda slow going but she enjoys them.
Best Tricks: Dance
Arrival Story: Our neighbors offered her too us telling us that she was too infested with fleas for them to deal with. The woman who offered Honey to us actually had just recently gotten the dog from her mother who spent $600 for her as a puppy but for 6 years after that "could not find the time for her".
I currently live at home with my mother with my own dogs. And she has been wanting a small breed for herself. And so she was all about taking Honey in. I have given Honey two baths and three trims in one day to rid her of her flea problem. Her head and ears were just coated in dried blood. I had not planned on shaving her bald, head and all. But the fleas were gathering on her nose/eyes and she just had to be shaved bald. She has now been frontline treated and a flea cannot be found on her. I think she feels much better. She will have a great loving forever home that will give her the love and attention she deserves
Bio: Because of Honeys past she really didn't know how to be a dog or interact with other dogs. Almost a month after we have taken her in and she is almost a completely different dog. She has lost some weight, she is much more tolerant of the other dogs she even initiates play!. She does have some OCD issues we are working on compulsive licking is a big issue but it's getting better. She is also venturing around the house much more than she used to. Her potty training is a work in progress but what can you expect from a 8 year old dog who was never house trained? She does very very good though.
Thanks to a special medicated shampoo and lots of love and a healthy diet, Honey has grown back in her full fluffy Pomeranian coat. She is still not a fan of walking on leash which I have just accepted as something that won't happen with her. She is a completely different dog a year after adopting her. She runs with the other dogs and her favorite playmate/wrestling buddy is Fae (my yorkie/Chi mix). I thought she was such a old dog close to the end of her life when I first adopted her. It's amazing what proper care and love will do. She is just as feisty and lively as 1 year old Fae and I believe she has many happy years ahead of her :).
