Chasing critters in the country
Pesky kids; roughhousing; doorbells
A braided rope for tug-of-war; why, a Kong, of course!
Dried salami (when it "falls" on the floor)
Anywhere you want to take him
While not a performer, he will happily lie down for a treat
We adopted Wally from a no-kill shelter in NJ that had rescued him from a nearby city pound. All we know about his previous life was that he was found on the streets of Newark. He had spent nearly a year in the shelter when we adopted him. We can safely assume he lived with people since he was/is completely house trained, and he has never chewed anything in 5 years!
Over time it became clear that Wally is very nervous around kids, and he can take a bit of time to warm to new people. Now that we have a baby, we know this is not the right home for him -- for his sake and ours -- but the right one is definitely out there!
Wally gets along well with other dogs and loves nothing more than a romp in the country where he can chase critters to his heart's content. Don't let those short legs fool you - this guy can really run! But, thankfully, he's just as happy to lie next to you on the sofa and sleep in when you do.
Wally is one unique mash-up of a pup! Big dog body, little (wiener) dog legs -- he's about 40 pounds. He is loaded with personality and spunk. In the right environment, he will most definitely thrive and love you back in spades.
Wally is currently living in Brooklyn, NY but would happily hop in the car to meet his potential new family.
