OK, guys, you can come out now. This game of hide-and-seek is getting a little old. I’m ready to go home now. Guys…. Guys!

Bob? Tony? Where are you?

Whoa! What the heck is going on? Bob and Tony packed up the car and dropped me off at the kennels. I figured they were just leaving me to be groomed or something, but it’s now late in the evening, and they haven’t come back to get me. I mean, the kennels are nice, and I got to run around a lot, but what the heck is going on?

I forgot to mention something about the training class this past Sunday. In one of the exercises, I had to sit at one end of the store while Bob walked to the other end, turned around, and came back. When he got to the other end and turned around, I got up, but when he yelled “stay” again, I sat right back down and waited for him. Even Wendy, the trainer, was impressed that I didn’t try to run away.

I’m not much of a barker, but I do make growling and grumbling sounds from time to time. My new friend Blake said I’m a talker. Of course, I don’t talk as much as Bob and Tony; I’m just more eloquent.

Today was training day again. Oh, yes, I have completed the beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes, but I thought Bob could use a little remedial training. The results today were somewhat mixed, but he’ll catch on eventually.

While we were at PetSmart today, I had Bob buy a new mattress for me. After all, if he and Tony can get a new bed, why shouldn’t I? Besides, it’ll come in handy on our upcoming road trip.

Several times I have heard Tony call me “silly” or “goofy.” Well, as an art therapist, Tony should understand the concept of projection. Actually, Tony could learn a lot about the psychology of human behavior from me.

Sometimes Tony and Bob go out without me; yeah, I know, it’s a disgrace, but are ya gonna do? At least they usually leave the TV on to keep me company. I prefer it when Tony sets the TV because he usually leaves it on Animal Planet. Bob, on the other hand, usually leaves it on one of the news channels. Yuck! Last night was great, though. They went out and left me with two Chipmunk movies. Alvin, Theodore, Simon, and I had a grand time.

I took Bob back to Pepper Creek Trail today. We both needed the exercise: me, because I’m a growing boy; and Bob, because he’s getting old and flabby. He’s such a slow poke. Dragging Bob over Pepper Creek Trail is like dragging a snow sled across the Siberian tundra.

Wow! Dogster Diary Pick of the Day…again! That’s the second exciting thing that’s happened to me this morning.

Since it was a bit overcast this morning and not quite as hot as it has been lately, Bob decided that it would be all right to take me to the courts to run, and boy did I run! I ran and ran and ran. I had a great time. In fact, in my running, I knocked over the drink that Bob had brought with him. Naturally, it spilled, and since I was thirsty and hot, I not only slurped up some of the ice, but I decided to lay down on it to cool off. That would have been fine except that it spilled over a small section of dirt, creating a mud puddle. Well, as you might imagine, Bob wasn’t too thrilled about my getting mud all over my belly and legs. Fortunately for me, though, Bob took the whole thing in stride and just wiped me down.
