DAY 290, Sunday, 12/23/12

I went to the groomer’s today. I didn’t mind the bath, but did they have to spray that silly sugar-cookie perfume all over me? I think that’s animal cruelty, don’t you? Maybe I’ll file a complaint with the Humane Society. Besides, if anybody in this house needs perfume, it’s Bob, not me.

I got a nice E-mail message from one of my fans today. She wrote, “Biscuit, I really enjoy your comments on life. You seem to have the right attitude, and all (four) feet on the ground! Wish you could run for public office. I would vote for you. (As long as it wasn't for dog catcher!)” Hmmm. Congressman Biscuit. Has a nice ring to it. I couldn’t possibly do any worse than some of those guys in Washington.

Bob washed my regular leash today, so when I had to go out, he took me on the long 25-foot leash and let me run in the little yard in front of our apartment complex. I had a grand time because that area is a little valley, and the snow is piled very deep there. I almost got lost in the snow. We’re supposed to have more snow on Monday.

This afternoon when I was out walking, Bob and I came across a couple of little kids with their mother. I walked up and said, “Hi,” to the older girl, and the baby got jealous, I guess, so the mother set her down and let her pet me. I kissed each of the girls and let them rub my belly. Kids are so nice.

When Bob took me out for my first walk of the morning, it was -1 degree. Yes, that’s 1 degree below zero. Before going out, Bob wrapped a red blanket around his head and then pulled the hood of his heavy winter coat over that. I was so embarrassed. I just hope nobody saw us together.

Tony said that every time he walks out into the cold, he just reminisces about looking out the window of his apartment in Galveston and watching the porpoises swimming in the gulf. Bob replied that he sees porpoises every morning, but that’s because he’s getting no oxygen to his brain. Somehow, I don’t think that lack of oxygen is really the problem.

Bob had an appointment across town today, and he took me with him. I like going places with him—mostly because I enjoy riding in the car. I hope he has another appointment tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the next….

As I look out my window, it appears that it is snowing again, but it’s really just the snow falling off the tree tops as it begins to thaw under the sun’s rays. Too bad. I was hoping for more new snow.

Update: Tony says we are supposed to get 10 more inches of snow by Wednesday. Yea!

I looooooooovvvvvvve the snow. We’ve had about two feet of it in the past two days, and I had so much fun today frolicking in it. Bob said I looked like a bunny rabbit hopping through it. I hope it snows every day.

Why are some people so attached to their guns? Why don’t they just get a dog?

Bob (to Tony): You know what’s the best thing about Biscuit?

Tony: What’s that?

Bob: He’s easy to find in the dark. (Ha ha!)

Tony: Wait ‘til it snows.

Biscuit: Arf! Arf! (Translation: Yippee!)

Bob: What’s up, Biscuit?

Biscuit: Woof! (Translation: It’s snowing!)

It has turned very cold the past couple of days. Bob has promised me a big surprise tomorrow night. I wonder what it could be.
