Arrival Story:
A lady had a litter of pups and she coudn't get rid of Teddy because he is deaf, and no one wanted a purebred deaf poodle. At the time we got Teddy we had another older miniature poodle named Peppe, and he learned how to act from him. You would never know he is deaf if you saw him now.

Bio:
When Teddy first came to us, because of his lack of hearing, he was very unstable when it came to walking, because of his equilibrium inside his brain that controls balance. Your own equilibrium can be effected by stopped up ears when you have a cold. He kinda looked like Harry Carey, his head shook a little when he would sit still, and when he walked he sort of stumbled alot. But now, he's 2 years old and he walks perfectly, and acts as normal as any other dog, but he can't hear.

Forums Motto:
Just sit me in the window, please!

Teddy has passed away

It's been almost a month now, but Teddy lost his battle with his immune disease. He was euthanized on August 24, and he was cremated and now sits on top of our television for the moment, as it is football season, and he loved to watch the games. I haven't decided if I want to bury his ashes, turn them into a lab-created diamond, or simply get him a better urn and leave him on the TV.

He will truly be missed.

Teddy is very very sick. He is in the hospital now, and has been there on and off for about 3 weeks. He has something wrong with his immune system. His white and red blood cells are being attacked by his immune system, and if his platelets get below 20 he can start bleeding randomly and spontaneously internally. He has had 2 blood transfusions, a slew of medicines, and had 2 siezures. Unfortunately, if this new med for the immune system does not work Ted will have to be put to sleep. What started all the concern was we were out on a normal outing to Walgreens when I noticed he suddenly lost his vision. He had blood in his eye and it was from his platelets being so low. His daddy and I and all our friends and family are praying for him nonstop, but it doesn't look good for our baby right now. I ask if you are reading this to please say a little prayer for him, every little bit of prayer or good vibes and well wishes helps. Keep him in your thoughts and maybe we can have a miracle.

Gee whiz!! it's been a long time since I wrote anything! Not much has really changed. I have all but forgotten about my daddy, and now call Jenny and Walter Mom and Dad. Mamaw went to Florida for Thanksgiving (whatever THAT is...) and for a few days my cousin Darbie stayed with us. She's a standard size poodle, and HUGE compared to me. And while she tried to play with me, she only hurt me. She rolled me through the yard when he head-butted me, so I bit her on her cheek. She bit me alot too, mostly around my back and stuff. Mom yelled at her alot, so eventually she went home and Mom checked on her at her house. I only missed Mamaw a little, she smells funny and I don't like that tube she has. (She's on oxygen) Thanksgiving day here was fun. Mom got up early and cooked all day, and she even gave me some! My grampa and gramaw got to come over and eat with us and so did one of Daddy's friends, Jim. Grampa's my favorite, he pets me alot and feeds me stuff too. Mom spent alot of time fixing food and decorating the place, it looked like outside but inside, and she had lots of leaves everywhere, and even a pumpkin! Now we have this tree with lights and little circles hanging on it, and it's in the living room, right in front of the window. How am I supposed to look out of it if there's a tree there?? And this tree was set up in Mom and Dad's bedroom last year, because my other daddy was sleeping in the living room in a special bed. And just today, Mom took all the leaves out and put snowflakes and this picture of a lot of people looking at a baby on the wall. Man these humans are weird. I keep seeing the word Christmas, but I don't remember what it means. Anyway, it snowed here a few days ago, but it didn't stay long. It was pretty though. Gotta run, it's nap time.
