I was a stray dog and my family adopted me at the shelter in December 2011.

I don't like water but I will reluctantly take a bath. I love rawhide but the pack leaders won't give it to me anymore because whenever I have it in my mouth, I growl at them. Also, right now, I have a girl friend who is a black lab. My pack leaders will take me for walks and let me see her! I have a best friend and his name is Shadow. He is a German Shepherd mix. He is only two and sometimes plays too rambunctiously so I growl at him.

A Spitz's Life by Fritz the Spitz

A new animal

Hi everybody!

Last night I was going to go outside before my pack leaders went to bed. I look and there is this HUGE thing on the screen door. It was on the outside of the door so I couldn't get to it, so I figured I'd try to bite it. So here I am trying to get through the screen using my mouth. Pack leader 3 comes and says "Fritz, its just a moth." So to answer I bark, which makes her laugh because I'm barking about a "moth". Then Pack leader 2 tells me to be quiet because I'm "too loud". Well EXCUSE ME for trying to protect my pack from this large animal called a moth. So then pack leader 3 starts encouraging me to "get it" even though I CAN'T! Which makes me prance around the house while barking in utter frustration.

So anyway, I still don't exactly know what a moth is, but I do know it was as big as my nose, it had wings, and a fuzzy head. Wait, I have a fuzzy head, does that mean I'm a MOTH? Does that mean I can FLY? I don't know...

Well, Ill see you all later! I have to fight off all the moths from our back porch.

Bye! Fritz the Spitz

No Sign of the Bird

Well, still no sign of Feather the Fischer lovebird. She was outside on Sunday and escaped her cage when it fell over.

Pack Leaders 2 and 3 really miss her and hope she'll come back but that's doubtful, really. I wasn't a big fan of her, she once bit my nose when I was first adopted. She has a REALLY sharp beak. Plus, whenever she came out for a fly in the house, I would have to go outside whether I wanted to or not because I would try and play with her and I play rough. But(sigh)...I tolerated her because my family loved her.

Not much else new on my front. The weather is really nice and I get to go outside and patrol the backyard a lot. There are A LOT of mosquitoes this year!!! Good thing I take my heartworm pills. I haven't been for a walk this week so I'll have to get on my packs' back about that!!

A bad weekend...

Well, it was a bad weekend here in our household. On Sunday, my sister (a Fischer lovebird named Feather) escaped from her cage and got lost outside. She was outside enjoying the weather on a table in her cage when the wind blew over the umbrella and knocked over the table. The cage broke and she flew like a cannon ball into the nearby woods. All of my pack leaders went to look for her. They took her cage and everything! Pack leader 3 was the last to spy her 3/4 of the way up a tall cottonwood tree saying "Come here." Yes, my sister talks which is very rare for a lovebird.

Pack leaders 2 and 3 spent two hours trudging through the woods which is also a wetlands area and full of mosquitoes, but could not find her. It would be like finding a needle in a haystack. The trees have all leafed out and my sister is green. They kept listening for her but didn't hear her any more. They told a bunch of neighbors and now everyone is on the lookout.

They are all very, very sad and the mood is very somber at our house. I am sad, too, because they are sad.

But if there was an upside to the weekend it's that the pack leaders planted our vegetable garden. It is fenced in and I now have a new thing to guard and patrol. I sit right by the chicken wire fence and wait for any intruders especially those bunnies!!!!

Well, thanks for reading and I hope that everyone has a better day that we will.
