Bio:
"My story started very far from the DFW area ~ about 100 miles away! I was found dumped on a country road and was taken to a local shelter. Thanks to some wonderful LBR volunteers, I made my way to the DFW area and now have foster parents that are ready to help me find my forever home. I’ve only been here a few days but I’ve already made myself very comfortable with Maggie and Mulligan, both LBR alums. I can highly recommend inside living and soft, fluffy beds! My foster mom and dad think they’ve hit the trifecta with me. I’m very gentle and laid back and I LOVE kids. I’m small enough to be easily handled and walk very well with a harness and leash. Best of all? I’m great with cats, which is a good thing with Kiki the resident cat not going anywhere! As far as physical characteristics, my foster mom says I am the softest boxer she’s ever owned or fostered and she calls me her Velveteen Boxer. I weigh 50.6 pounds but could gain about 5 more and still be at a healthy weight. I don’t have any heartworms (YAY!) and luckily was spayed before LBR saved me so I’ve never had babies. I have some intestinal wormies that are being treated, but I’ll be ready for adoption the first weekend in April. Personality traits my foster mom has learned about me so far: · I prefer to be snoozing at your feet or snuggled up next to you on the couch. Where you are is where I’ll be. If you are looking for a running partner or a very active Boxer, you’ll need to look elsewhere! · I REALLY like sunning outside while you read a book or work in the garden. Butterflies and dragonflies are fun to watch but I don’t chase them. Ditto for squirrels. · I don’t know what toys are for, but Maggie and Mulligan are trying their hardest to teach me. I think I’ll have the hang of that in a day or two! · I am VERY treat/food motivated and learned “sit” on the first day I was here. We are now working on “down” but I don’t like that one very much. It’s hard to get more treats when you’re laying on the ground! (Greek yogurt and peanut butter filled Kong’s are my favorite snacks followed very closely by cheese!) · When I am excited I don’t jump up. I have a very silly Circle Dance I do where my nose touches my heinie and I go round and round in circles until I get dizzy. If I sound like a pup that would be a good match for you, please contact Legacy Boxer Rescue and ask for Elka. I’m the sweet, gentle Velveteen Boxer waiting for my perfect forever home. "
