Arrival Story:
3-17-2012 Cady Lou went to the bridge today. She had been sick and we thought it was from the spay surgery. It was Parvo. The people who had her before, and had surrendered her because they "didn't have time for her" also didn't have time to get her shots. Not only did she have parvo, she also had a nail in her stomach and the vet didn't know how long it had been there, but it had possibly perforated her intestine. She never lost her tail wagging spirit, but the vet felt that the issues she had were too much to overcome. We made the hard decision to let her go, and I held her, telling her how much she was loved, and what a good dog she was. She was only with us for a few days but she had stolen our hearts. Mama

Bio:
Mama saw my picture on facebook thru the local Humane Society's page. Although mama had been telling daddy that "we don't need more dogs than we have hands to pet with", she thought I looked cute and forwarded the picture to daddy. He said "go get her", so mama went to visit me. I was really scared and shy, but I warmed up to mama pretty soon and when I gave her a kiss---well, I knew I had a home! Mama wanted me right then but Mr. Humane Society said that I needed an operation the next morning and could go home after that. Mama came back the next day and got me, took me home to meet my brother and sister, and I joined the family! Mama named me Cady Lou after places! Daddy and Mama love to visit family in Maine, and really like Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, so mama thought Cady would be short for Acadia. Lou is for St. Louis, which is where they went on their first trip together when they were dating. I knew my name real quick, and liked it so much, I wagged my tail hard!
