Arrival Story:
I adopted Rocket from the North Campus Humane Society when I was 8(i am now 11). I named him as soon as I heard that he was a boy. He made a big impression on my life, and got me into agility. I have never gotten into any real competitions, but I hope to get a border collie, and train it to be the best dog out there. As for now, I love rocket for who he is, when he's gone, I can picture him, waiting for me, in heaven, tail forever wagging.

Bio:
In case you are wondering how rocket got his name, I got from an old show, "Meercat Manor". the warrior/outcast/survivor meercat was named Rocketdog.Rocket has been attacked by a pack of coyotes once, and he barely escaped with his life(he also got me into vetrinary medicine). He half-drug, half-crawled to a bush on the hill behind our house. A neighbor found him lying there, tail still wagging, almost gone. He had several snapped and fractured vertebra, required surgery on his neck and back, and had tubes running all over the place, transferring blood everywhere. We are lucky that my mom went to college yo be a vet and worked as a vet tech in several places, so he got to come home right after surgery. He still has part of a surgical tube stuck just under the skin on his left shoulder. The coyotes ate his microchip, so when several months later, he got out and the Escondido Humane Society picked him up, he had no microchip. He has also been attacked by a big rottie mix from down the street, who took a chunk out of his left ear. What makes this worse is that, the dogs owners were standing there, watching. One of the owners, who was a man, did nothing to help, so it was up to me. After minutes, I had the dog under control. Now Rocket hates big dogs with the other dogs markings. He has also been run OVER by a car. By run over, I mean he ducked under the car, in between the tires, under the center line of the axles. He now thinks of it as a game. I love rocket with all my heart, and always will, even when he's gone, because that's what friends are for.
