Arrival Story: Just like the song says, Clementine is an “oh my darling”! Seriously, she is a very sweet girl with so much love to give.
We don't know much about Clementine's past. The vet estimates her to be about 5 years old. She is very agile, even with a little extra poundage on her. (She weighs 53 lbs. and is currently on a diet to try to lose 5 lbs..) Clementine might have been a working dog. She is very intent on herding the other dogs in the house when they are playing fetch and Frisbee. As you might imagine, this doesn't always go over so well with the pack! She knows sit, off and drop it. She is smart and very focused.
Bio: Clem loves all dogs and all people. She plays equally well with another ACD and with a 12 lb corgi mix, both in her foster home. She seems to be a little starved for human attention. She definitely wants to be the apple of your eye so we think a situation where she is the only dog would be heaven for Clementine. She is very velcro so she could easily be trained to be off leash. A fenced yard is not necessary.
Clementine has an amazingly expressive face. Her tongue cutely hangs out of the side of her mouth after she's been playing. Her eyes seem to be just a little off to the side. She sees perfectly well, but maybe she is a little cross-eyed. It just adds to her uniqueness! Clem is housetrained, crate trained, and doesn't chew inappropriately. She does love to destuff toys and chew bones. And when she's really excited and can't get my attention, she will pick up a crock or clog and run around holding it in her mouth. I have tested her by letting her do it and she never does damage. She just likes to hold it. When I say "drop it" and she does.
Clementine rides very well in the car. She hops into the back seat and enjoys the view. She is also very good on a leash. She is up to date on all shots and has been spayed.
If you are looking for a loving, bonded friend, please consider meeting our darling Clementine.
