Went to a convention today and it was great!!! Only stayed four hrs got Thad to use the restroom outside and away from home for the first time. Saw an old friend he said asked about writing a letter to help Thad and I cool. Stopped by Domino's on the way home to try their new pan pizza, curious because I never liked them before and they stopped selling them shortly after I quit working there, it was the bomb!!!!

Oct 24-25

Yesterday I went down to the River Walk Park and practiced the CGC exercise with Maureen and some 10th grader she brought with her dog. They were an hour late so me and Thad practiced working with distractions like sitting, paying attention to me, and come when called.

Today went down to the River Walk Park with my hubby and worked on leaving him for 3mins, loose leash walking, come when called and heels for about an hr.
Worked later tonight with come front/finish, down stay with me around corner for 2mins and sit stays with me around corner for 2mins.

Oct 21

went to church today and he did so good when we got home he we did puppy push ups and come when called. we went to a meeting later on in the day.

Oct 16

Went to train today with Maureen at the Glenn's. Thad worked when we were letting other, therapy dogs, get petted and love on and us letting people know he was not to be petted. It was different for him not having people pet him or him being able to love on them. I am trying to get his focus on me and show him I will be the one loving on him from now on when he is in uniform. After that we let him run around and play for a while out of uniform with the other dogs. He just loved it socializing with other dogs besides his brother and sister who do not play with him. I think she will be able to train both of us well. I was taught about my tone to make it softer and less military today also and to talk quietly to him more. Rub him more and be tender with him. I am having a hard time since the loss of my last service dog getting the proper bond.

Oct 15

Thad and I went to court yesterday with my brother for his divorce hearing. Thad behaved great at first and just laid down and then a phone rang in the court room and he let out one bark. Thankfully we were on break and I just to him for a walk and he was fine after that for the next hour or so. When the judge returned we broke till 3:30pm so we went home. I ran him once at home and we took a walk around the court house before we went back inside and he just slept the whole time. I was so proud of him I gave him a treat once we got home.

Oct 12

Got Thad all dressed up in his SD harness and had him do work like if he was out in public with me. Thad peed on command for me this morning.

worked on retrievals and come when called off and on all day.

Oct 7

Worked on down stays for 6 min, come when called and retrievals off and on all day.

Oct 5

Worked on comes when called and he is getting so much better at that off leash. We also worked on retrieves and that still unfortunately still needs lots of work.

Oct 3

Met with Maureen today for Thad's training and she was so nice. She said she would help me for free if I wanted I could donate money to her Therapy Dog program. We worked on getting his come when called solid and also retrieves. We worked for 1hr.
