Pract iced come when called, around to heel. Sit stays and down stays. Went out to stores to practice.

Now 19

Went and practiced today with Jason. Thad is doing so much better just after the first 2wks with him. He Showed me some more things while working on stays and being more consistent with lower softer tone in my voice.
We practiced some later on at home. I let him play some before we went to a meeting at RROTC later on that nite.

Nov 18

We went to Sunday School today and he was so good. Went home and he played for awhile. Then went to a Sunday meeting and I had a confrontation with my sponsor, she did not call when we were suppose to meet and did not show she said I just don't call, Thad sensed my tension from that so we left. (I just felt to uncomfortable after that) We instead went walking around different stores for an hour and half to make sure he was real tired because we also had Thanksgiving dinner ate church. He did so well at the dinner that when it was over several people told me how well behaved he was. We went home and he had done so well he just got to be a dog the rest of the night:)

Nov 14

Yesterday and today we worked on same commands but today I tried something different I used a softer voice and had better luck. He seems to have the light command down without using treats he touches it now.

We went to the Goodwill and bought some sweats for me and PJ's for hubby. Then we went to the Board Walk and walked around looked in shops. Thad and I were tuckered out by the time we got home and took a nap.

Nov 12

I was sick yesterday and today but tried to work anyways today.
Thad is 11 mons old and when practicing he does not hold a down the whole time. I get up to eat, use the restroom, chores, and smoke outside. It is getting frustrating today cause he is pushing me to the limit cause he always has so I guess I just have to hang in there and be consistent. He is getting really good at touching the light switch(which is on a board about his nose length right now). He also is doing a good under tables at this time. I plan to see if I can find a program that will help me with financing for Thad's training.

Nov 9- 10

Thad and I continue to work on him being on a hands free leash connected to me doing sits for 15min and down stays for like an hour everyday for at least three hrs at a time. Sitting every time I stop no matter what for and going everywhere with me in the house. We also work on light a couple of times a day and loose leash walking. We are working up to building his time on the leash working. I am also working on getting him to go on command more frequently. Our bond has grown even more since I have been doing this training more with him. I believe this trainer maybe the one only thing is he cost an arm and a leg so I will just have to do without a lot of luxuries like getting my hair cut and stuff like that for a while.

Nov 8

Worked with Thad for a hour at a time 3hrs in all today and will build up slowly for him to get use to it every day. My next appt. with Jason is Nov 19 at 10am. We also worked on the light switch for a while.

Nov 7

Took Thad to a new trainer his name is Jason Revere and he is the only one I have met that has service dog training in the area. He trained in Southern California and he is good so far. He showed me so things I can improve on already. We also started working on him turning the lights on by getting him use to touching a switch I have on a board. He also has me working at home with Thad by my side most the time and less play time.

Oct 31

Today I worked on sit and down with one command. I let my hubby hold Thad while I left the room for three mins. several times today. Tonight we went to RROTC to practice and they where having a costume party which we watched they where so cute. We ate supper with the other members and then played a game mixed with novelist and agility and Thad came in second place!!!!

Oct 29

Went to a doctors appointment at 2:00pm then we went to the dog park and walked around the track. After that we went to PetSmart and had three different people hold Thad while I walked away. He lasted 1 1/2mins with the first two and only thirty seconds with the third person. (It was good considering) He was absolutely wonderful at the doctors so I bought him a new toy at PetSmart. When we got home there was this old man walking his dog and Thad and I went and said hi. I now have him shaking to say hi instead of the petting.
