Arrival Story:
We lost our beloved Sammy in September 2003 and went to the Daphneyland Ranch (part of the Basset Rescue Connection of Los Angeles, CA) to get another old guy to foster/adopt. Barney was pretty pitiful with his very crooked front legs, and, being older (then 8.5 yrs), not very adoptable. We chose him with the understanding he was a foster until we knew where my husband, a soldier, was getting stationed next (it would have been hard on Barney to be moved to Germany, for instance.) When we got orders to Texas, we adopted the old guy.

Bio:
Barney Boy was severely underweight when the rescue bailed him out of a shelter. We've plumped him up and given him what every good basset needs--unlimited food, a warm bed, and lots of love. He's the first basset we've had that actually drools--copious amounts of slime get on everything around here--especially the walls! Sadly, Barney Boy was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma in June 2006 and passed away on 28 July 2006. We miss the old boy veyr very much.
